Module A: Single-Digit Multiplication and Division

Description

Math with Me in Mind is a math intervention program that centers students’ math identities and their emotional relationship with math. It’s a holistic program designed to foster positive math confidence and to learn the essential skills for math success.

Module A covers single-digit multiplication and division in 12 lessons. Each lesson is two hours long and features with six elements:

1. Math Identity: building a positive relationship with math, learning to manage math anxiety, and more.
2. Belonging Bio: students are introduced to mathematicians from diverse backgrounds to widen their vision for their future in math spaces.
3. Fluency Games: social interaction games designed to be joyful while practicing essential math skills.
4. Skill Building: developing deep understanding of math concepts.
5. Challenge Task: a unique challenge designed to expose misconceptions and solidify conceptual understanding.
6. Should I Know: retrieval exercises found at the end of each session designed to help students build math confidence.
